BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into the muscles of the face and used to soften the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time. The most popular sites for the treatment of facial wrinkles by Botox are between the brows, the forehead, and the crow’s feet areas next to the eyes.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by Dr. DaBell as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles that cause the most common wrinkles in the face.

It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows, in the forehead, and the crow’s feet area to the sides of the eyes.

The results achieved with Botox can be incredible, however, Botox is a temporary treatment of the wrinkles seen with facial expression. Most people require retreatment with the Botox three to four times per year, although the frequency may decrease after receiving multiple treatments.

The Botox treatment is carried out in our office and only takes between 10-15 minutes to complete. Results are visible after just a couple of days and the full effect is appreciated after approximately two weeks. Some patients may experience mild redness after the injections or occasionally some bruising at the site of injection.
